Strategically located at the gateway to the Cagayan Valley, Diamond Park is a favorite haven for picnickers and nature lovers. It features an unspoiled forest and a host of wildlife species. Upon reaching the top of its 100-step stairway, one is awed by a pagoda on a hilltop offering a panoramic view of northern part of Nueva Ecija. Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center BagoRafael Salas Park and Nature Center is a special interest park that serves as a gateway to the Mount Kanlaon Natural Park. It appeals to mountain climbers and adventure seekers because of the long and challenging trek to the peak of Mt. Kanlaon. The Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center comprises 296 Hectares at foot of Mount Kanlaon. It is the gateway to one of four trails to the peak of the mountain, which has an altitude of 2,435 meters, the highest in the Visayas region and is one of the 10 Priority Protected Areas Under the National integrated Protected Areas (NIPAS) Law. Kanlaon’s 24,00 hectares are recognized worldwide to contain high endemism and the presence of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna. Continue reading
