Locals would repulse them with their unforgettable cry: “Bacon! Bacon!, which translates to “Stand up, stand up and fight!,” hence the name Bacong. Founded in 1801, Bacong is best known as the hometown of the revolutionary Filipino hero, Pantaleon Villegas, better known as Leon Kilat.
