The Paez house was constructed of asana and yakal and did not use nails but only mechado (bamboo pegs) and tornillo pasante (screws). The house was occupied by Japanese officials during the war, as it was fronting the house of Epifanio de los Santos. The latter was used as the municipio, and was burned down during the war.
