Diosdado Macapagal Airport to Boracay

Diosdado Macapagal International Airport

The terminal of the Clark International Airport in Pampanga

How can you get to Boracay from the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport? Although there are many outbound flights from DMIA (commonly known as Clark International Airport), there are only two flight routes from Clark International Airport that can get you there:  1). Clark Airport to Caticlan Airport, and Clark Airport to Kalibo Airport.

1. Clark Airport to Caticlan Airport

Clark Airport (CRK) to Caticlan Airport (MPH) is the most direct method to get to Boracay.  After arriving at the Caticlan Airport (also known as the Godofredo P Ramos Airport), the ferry port is just minutes away by tricycle, and you should be on Boracay Island after the ten minute ferry ride. Because the Caticlan’s airport runway is smaller, it can only accommodate smaller aircraft, and most airlines that fly into this location will limit, if not prohibit, checked baggage when you fly on this route.  So if you plan on staying in Boracay for an extended amount of time and plan on bringing checked luggage, consider the Clark to Kalibo route (explained below) instead.

2. Clark Airport to Kalibo Airport

Clark Airport (CRK) to the Kalibo International Airport (KLO) is the alternative route to get to Boracay Island. The Caticlan ferry port is a two hour drive from the Kalibo Airport. Travelers flying into Kalibo must ride a bus, van or jeep to get to Caticlan. Don’t worry, there are plenty of transportation options to immediately take you to Caticlan upon arrival at the terminal. It will cost approximately P400-P500 to finally get you to Boracay from the Kalibo terminal.  Much of the two hour road commute is scenic; The primary advantage of flying into Kalibo Airport is that passengers can bring their heavier checked baggage aboard the larger aircraft that are permitted to land at Kalibo’s larger runway.

Whichever route you choose, there are three different airlines that can take you to Boracay from Clark: Air Asia Airlines, Airphil Express, and Tiger Airways. Each airline has different schedules and different routes, so check on their web sites for the latest in flight quotes, seating availability, schedules, and routes.
